My art practice begins with looking—at landscapes, photographs, fragments, shapes, colors, and the unexpected compositions that appear in everyday life.
Working in acrylic, mixed media, gouache, charcoal, and collage, I often begin with something observed and allow the work to move away from representation through simplification, experimentation, and abstraction.
Increasingly, I’m interested less in depicting a particular place than in exploring what remains of it: color, shape, atmosphere, memory, and feeling.
